About Us

News&Stuff is a Cape Town-based independent online publication.

We publish editorial content that inform, uplift, entertain and educate.

On the business side we have adopted a membership model where members can advertise their “stuff” – products, events and services – on our online platforms. News&Stuff also serves as a networking forum to its members. Membership is open to individuals, Non-Government Organisations, Non-Profit Organisations, clubs and businesses.

News&Stuff is managed and edited by Neil Scott, a veteran journalist with more than 35 years’ experience in media and marketing.

Our Code

We work in the public interest; our editorial content is independent from all political or business influence.

We take all steps necessary to verify information is correct before publication. If we should publish inaccurate information in any way and upon being alerted to the error or errors, we will complete an evaluation. If we find any merits in the complaint, we undertake to publish with appropriate prominence a retraction, correction, explanation or an apology on every platform where the original content was published.

We always strive for balanced reporting and to present all sides of a story in all our published material. We shall provide a reasonable time frame to get comment from all parties involved in any story, then present all sides of the story to our audience in a balanced way. Should public interest be the overriding factor in the publication of any article, comment from relevant parties will be added as soon as possible after it is received.

Privacy

We take all reasonable steps to ensure that data containing personal information is protected from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. We only publish personal information for journalistic purposes.
