Winkels tydens optog geplunder
MISDAADTONEEL: Malmesbury, Swartland: ‘n March-and-March betoging het Donderdagoggend, 25 Junie 2026 lelik skeef geloop toe verskeie spaza winkels in Ilingelethu geplunder en twee mense gearresteer is.
Volgens die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ongeveer 350 mense van Ilingelethu in Malmesbury deelgeneem aan ‘n optog teen ongedokumenteerde buitelanders in die gebied. Memorandums is aan die SAPD, die departement van Binnelandse Sake, Verkeersdienste en Wetstoepassing oorhandig.
“Tydens die betoging het ‘n groep jongmense van Ilingelethu en Saamstaan na bewering verskeie spaza-winkels oopgebreek en geplunder.
“Die SAPD, wetstoepassers en ander owerhede het egter vinnig ingegryp om die stuasie onder beheer te bring en gaan voort om die situasie te monitor om verdere voorvalle te voorkom.
“Twee verdagtes van 19 en 37-jaar-oud is gearresteer vir huisbraak en diefstal,” het die polisie gesê

MISDAADTONEEL: Kraaifontein, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n beroep op getuies gedoen om na vore te kom nadat ‘n vrou Donderdagoggend, 25 Junie 2026 hier doodgeskiet is.
Volgens konstabel Ndakhe Gwala van die Wes-Kaapse polisie se mediakantoor is ‘n saak van moord geopen gemaak nadat ‘n 35-jarige vrou op die hoek van Boesak- en Botfonteinweg, Kraaifontein doodgeskiet is.
“Die omstandighede rondom die voorval word ondersoek,” het Gwala gesê.

Woman shot dead in street
CRIME SCENE: Kraaifontein, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have appealed to witnesses to come forward after a woman was shot and killed here on Thursday morning, 25 June 2026.
According to Constable Ndakhe Gwala of the Western Cape police media office police opened a case of murder following the shooting a 35-year-old woman at the corner of Boesak and Botfontein Road, Kraaifontein.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and the motive is yet to be determine,” said Gwala.

MISDAADTONEEL: Gordonsbaai, Helderberg: Wetstoepassingsowerhede het Woensdag 24 Junie 2026 op 743 onwettige perlemoen beslag gelê en twee mense in Clarence Drive gearresteer.
“Die Stad Kaapstad se Mariene en Omgewing-eenheid, die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) en GBSEC sekuriteitspersoneel, het gereageer op inligting en ‘n verdagte voertuig afgetrek.
“Die voertuig is deursoek en ‘n totaal van 743 perlemoen, wat vermoedelik onwettig besit en vervoer is, is in beslag geneem. ‘n Man en ‘n vrou is gearresteer,” het die Stad gesê.
Manenberg: ‘n Paar dae tevore, op Saterdag 20 Junie 2026, het die Mariene Eenheid inligting ontvang oor die onwettige verkoop van West Coast Rock Lobster in Sherwood Park, Manenberg.
“Terwyl hulle die huis deursoek het, het beamptes 720 kreefsterte ontdek. Die bewoner van die huis kon nie die wettige besit van die sterte bewys nie en is gearresteer,” het die Stad gesê.

Abalone, lobster tails seized
CRIME SCENE: Gordons Bay, Helderberg: Law enforcement authorities seized 743 illegal abalone and arrested two people on Clarence Drive on Wednesday, 24 June 2026.
“Acting on the information received, the City of Cape Town’s Marine and Environmental Unit, the South African Police Service (SAPS) and GBSEC Armed Response intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting the abalone.
“The vehicle was searched and a total of 743 units of abalone, believed to have been unlawfully possessed and transported, were seized. A man and a woman were arrested,” the City said.
Manenberg: A few days earlier, on Saturday, 20 June 2026, the Marine Unit received information about the illegal sale of West Coast Rock Lobster in Sherwood Park, Manenberg.
“While searching the house, officers discovered 720 lobster tails. The occupant of the house was could not prove lawful possession of the tails and was arrested,” the City said.

MISDAADTONEEL: Mfuleni, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het Woensdagoggend, 24 Junie 2026 ‘n paartjie in Minstrel-straat, Mfuleni, gearresteer vir besit van dwelms van R900 000.
Volgens die polisie het hulle ‘n perseel omstreeks 04:30 deursoek en 433g kristal-metamfetamien, twee sakkies crack-kokaïen, 14g Mandrax-poeier, vier Mandrax-tablette, 7g ecstasy, ‘n nagemaakte vuurwapen en ‘n kontant gevind.
‘n 51-jarige man en sy 29-jarige vriendin is gearresteer vir die besit en handel in dwelms, asook die besit van ‘n verbode vuurwapen.
Couple arrested in Mfuleni
Police find drugs worth about R1m
CRIME SCENE: Mfuleni, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) arrested two suspects for drug-related offences in Minstrel Street, Mfuleni on Wednesday morning, 24 June 2026.
According to the police a search was conducted at approximately 04:30 at a premises where 433 grams of crystal meth, two sachets of crack cocaine, 14 grams of Mandrax powder, four Mandrax tablets, 7 grams of ecstasy, a modified imitation firearm, and an undisclosed amount of cash were discovered. The drugs are estimated to be worth about R900 000.
A 51-year-old male and his 29-year-old girlfriend were arrested for possession and dealing in drugs as well as possession of a prohibited firearm.

MISDAADTONEEL: Hanover Park, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) se anti-bende-eenheid het drie vuurwapens van die strate verwyder en drie mense gearresteer.
Tydens ‘n intelligensie-gedrewe operasie op Dinsdag, 23 Junie 2026 het die eenheid ‘n 19-jarige tiener in Lansry Walk gearresteer nadat hy in besit van ‘n verbode vuurwapen en agt rondtes ammunisie gevind is.
Opvolgoperasies het die span na ‘n perseel in dieselfde straat gelei, waar hulle ‘n 18-jarige tiener gearresteer het vir die besit van en handel in dwelms na die ontdekking van 15 sakkies Tik, 51 heroïensakkies en kontant.
Die operasie het toe na Cascade Court verskuif waar ‘n 27-jarige man gearresteer is toe hy in besit van ‘n verbode vuurwapen en 11 rondtes ammunisie gevind is.
Manenberg: In ‘n onverwante voorval was die polisie besig met sigbare patrollies omstreeks 17:00 op Dinsdag, 23 Junie 2026 toe hulle ‘n onwettige vuurwapen met 17 rondtes ammunisie op ‘n veld tussen die spoorlyne en Yusuf Dadoo-straat in Manenberg gevind het. ‘n Ondersoek is by die Manenberg SAPD geopen vir ondersoek.
AGU strikes in Hanover Park
Teenagers arrested for gun, drugs
CRIME SCENE: Hanover Park, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) have taken three guns off the streets and arrested three people.
During an intelligence-driven the operation on Tuesday, 23 June 2026, the Unit arrested a 19-year-old male suspect in Lansry Walk after he was found in possession of a prohibited firearm and eight rounds of ammunition.
Follow-up operations led the team to a premises in the same street, where they arrested an 18-year-old male for possession and dealing in drugs after the discovery of 15 sachets of Tik, 51 heroin sachets and an undisclosed amount of cash.
The operation then moved to Cascade Court where a 27-year-old man was arrested when he was found in possession of a prohibited firearm and 11 rounds of ammunition.
Manenberg: In an unrelated incident, the police were busy with visible patrols at around 17:00 on Tuesday, 23 June 2026 when they found an abandoned prohibited firearm with 17 rounds of ammunition at a field between the railway tracks and Yusuf Dadoo Street in Manenberg. An enquiry was opened at Manenberg SAPS for investigation.
