Two men, woman shot in Khayelitsha

Suspects of triple murder on the run

CRIME SCENE: Khayelitsha, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have yet to make arrests following a triple murder in Khayelitsha on Saturday evening, 13 June 2026.

According to SAPS, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Pama Road, Site B, where they discovered the bodies of two men and a woman. All three victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

A media liaison officer for Western Cape SAPS, Colonel Andrè Traut, said preliminary information suggests the suspects approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the area.

The motive for the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

“Die lede ‘n 9 mm-pistool met ses rondtes ammunisie in sy besit gevind. Die verdagte het geen vuurwapenlisensie vir die pistool gehad nie. Hy sal in die Blue Downs-landdroshof verskyn sodra hy aangekla is,” het die polisie gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Wesbank, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a man in connection with illegal possession of a firearm.

According to the police members of Public Order Unit were busy with stop and search operations in Swartkop Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, 14 June 2026, when they searched a suspect who was roaming the streets.

“While searching him, the members found a 9mm pistol with six rounds of ammunition in his possession. The suspect had no firearm license for the pistol. He will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court once charged,” said the police

MISDAADTONEEL: Nyanga, Kaapstad: ‘n Man is gearresteer op ‘n aanklag van moord en poging tot moord kort nadat hy in ‘n ander saak in die hof verskyn het.

Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) se Provinsiale Ernstige Geweldsmisdaad Taxi-eenheid het die man Vrydag 12 Junie 2026 by die Athlone-landdroshof gearrester kort nadat hy in ‘n ander saak verskyn het.

Hy is deur getuies geïdentifiseer by ‘n skietvoorval op 12 November 2025 waar twee vroue doodgeskiet en verskeie ander gewond is by die Nyanga-busterminus.

Die verdagte het sy eerste hofverskyning op Vrydag, 12 Junie 2026 in die Athlone-landdroshof gemaak, waar die saak tot 19 Junie 2026 uitgestel is vir ‘n formele borgtogaansoek.

Murder suspect arrested at court

CRIME SCENE: Nyanga, Cape Town: A man has been arrested on a charge murder and attempted murder soon after he appeared in court in another case.

According to the police members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) Provincial Serious Violent Crime’s Taxi Unit, arrested the man on Friday, 12 June 2026 after he appeared on a separate case at the Athlone Magistrate’s court.

His arrest came after he was identified by witnesses at a shooting incident which occurred at the Nyanga bus terminus on 12 November 2025, where two women were shot and killed and several others wounded.

The suspect made his first court appearance in the Athlone Magistrates on Friday 12 June 2026, where the case was postponed until 19 June 2026, for a formal bail application.

MISDAADTONEEL: Bellville, Kaapstad: Twee vermeende voertuig jammers is deur die Maitland-blitspatrollie gevang.

Volgens die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het blitspatgrollie-lede Donderdag, 11 Junie 2026 inligting ontvang oor ‘n voertuig met twee insittendes wat verdag in parkeerareas en buite winkelsentrums in Bellville rondry.

Die blitspatrollie het reageer en die verdagtes se voertuig in Maree-straat, Oakdale, voorgekeer en deursoek.

Die polisie het twee elektroniese sein-jammers en gereedskap wat gebruik kan word om motors mee in te breek, binne die verdagtes se voertuig gevind.

Die mans, onderskeidelik 32 en 48-jaar-oud, is gearresteer en hul voertuig is aan ‘n motor huur maatskappy terugbesorg.


No way out for suspected car jammers

Flying squad makes quick arrests

CRIME SCENE: Bellville, Cape Town: Two suspected vehicle jammers have been arrested by the Maitland Flying Squad.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) the flying squad members received information on Thursday, 11 June 2026 about a vehicle with two occupants driving around in parking areas and shopping malls in the Bellville area.

They responded and the suspects’ vehicle was stopped and searched in Maree Street, Oakdale. They found two electronic jamming devices and vehicle breaking implements inside the vehicle.

The suspects, aged 32 and 48-years, were arrested. Their vehicle was handed back to a car rental company.

Kommetjie-weg, tussen Masiphumelele en Ocean View, was Donderdagaand, 11 Junie 2026 gesluit nadat betogers bande begin brand en die pad met kratte en klippe versper het.

Daar is berig dat die betoging begin is nadat onwettige informele strukture langs Ocean View afgebreek is.

‘n Video is Vrydag, 12 Junie 2026 op sosiale media versprei wat wys hoe iemand teen ‘n paal opklim en die CCTV-kameras stukkend slaan. Die insetsel op die foto is ‘n kom uit die video.

The City of Cape Town is seeking the help of the public to identify the man in this picture, who may be able to provide information regarding damage to CCTV infrastructure that occurred during protest action in Ocean View.

Kommetjie Road, between Masiphumelele and Ocean View, was closed on Thursday evening, 11 June 2026, after protesters started burning tyres and littering the road with crates and rocks.

It was reported that the protest action followed the demolition of illegally built structures next to Ocean View.

A video was circulated on social media on Friday, 12 June 2026 showing someone climbing a pole and smashing the CCTV cameras. The inset of the picture is a still taken from the video.

Die Masiphumelele-Ocean View-Kommetjie-polisieforum het ‘n kennisgewing uitgereik wat motoriste waarsku om alternatiewe roetes te gebruik. Daar is geen toegang tot Ocean View tot verdere kennisgewing nie, het hulle gesê.

Daar is berig die betoging het begin omdat owerhede onwettig geboude strukture langs Ocean View afgebreek het.
