Polisie maak dwelm-vangs on Hawston
MISDAADTONEEL: Hawston, Overberg: Die Wes-Kaapse Blitspatrollie het ‘n groot dwelm-vangs in dié klein vissersdorpie gemaak.
Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) sê hulle het Donderdag, 27 Augustus 2026 drie mans gearresteer op klagtes van handel in dwelms ná ‘n klopjag by ‘n huis in Forbes-straat.
“Die polisie het op inligting gereageer en ‘n huis omstreeks 14:45 by bogenoemde adres deursoek. Tydens die deursoeking het hulle 800 Mandrax-tablette, 1 035 sakkies Tik, 25 rondtes ammunisie en kontant gevind.
“”Drie verdagtes, onderskeidelik 29, 30 en 44-jaar-oud, is gearresteer vir dwelmhandel en sal in die Hermanus-landdroshof verskyn.
“Die Wes-Kaapse polisie bly daartoe verbind om dwelms uit gemeenskappe te roei,” het die SAPD gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Hawston, Overberg: The Western Cape Flying Squad has made a big drug bust in this small fishing village.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) said they arrested three male suspects for dealing in drugs after a raid at a house in Forbes Street on Thursday, 27 August 2026.
“Police acted on intelligence and conducted a search at the mentioned address at about 14:45. During the search, they found 800 mandrax tablets, 1 035 sachets of tik, 25 rounds of ammunition and cash. Three suspects, aged 29, 30 and 44-years, were arrested for dealing in drugs and will appear before the Hermanus Magistrate’s Court.
“Western Cape police remain committed to rooting out drugs from communities,” said SAPS.
