Beloning vir inligting oor moord

MISDAADTONEEL: Nyanga, Kaapstad: Die polisie het ‘n kontantbeloning van tot R50 000 uitgeloof vir inligting oor ‘n moord wat hier plaasgevind het.

Volgens die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het die Nyanga-polisie op 29 Junie 2026 omstreeks 15:45 gereageer op ‘n skietvoorval waartydens Bashira Issaka (35), ‘n burger van Ghana, binne sy besigheid doodgeskiet is deur verdagtes wat na bewering afpersingsgeld geëis het.

Volgens die SAPD volg die ondersoekbeampte alle beskikbare leidrade op om die oortreders op te spoor en doen ‘n beroep op die gemeenskap vir enige inligting wat kan help daarmee.

Diegene wat inligting verskaf, sal anoniem bly. ‘n Kontantbeloning word aangebied vir inligting wat lei tot die suksesvolle arrestasie en skuldigbevinding van die verdagtes.

Inligting kan aan die ondersoekbeampte, sersant Donovan Peterson van die Provinsiale Eenheid vir Ernstige en Geweldsmisdade, verskaf word by 084 684 0909 of Stop Misdaad by 08600 10111.

Skietery eis man in Lavender Hill

MISDAADTONEEL: Lavender Hill, Kaapstad: ‘n Man is Woensdagmiddag, 15 Julie 2026 verskeie kere geskiet en op die toneel dood verklaar.

Thembakazi Mpendukana, ‘n skakelbeampte vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, sê die Steenberg-polisie het ‘n moordsaak geopen na die voorval wat omstreeks 12:20 in Fawley-hof, Lavender Hill, plaasgevind het.

“Die polisie het ‘n 28-jarige manlike slagoffer op die grond gevind met skietwonde aan sy bolyf. Hy is deur mediese personeel op die toneel dood verklaar.

“Speurders ondersoek die omstandighede rondom die voorval en geen arrestasie is nog gemaak nie,” het Mpendukana gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Lavender Hill, Cape Town: A man was shot multiple times and died on Wednesday afternoon, 15 July2026.

Thembakazi Mpendukana, a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, said Steenberg police opened a murder case following the incident that happened at Fawley Court, Lavender Hill at about 12:20.

“Police reports state that the members found a 28-year-old male victim lying on the ground with gunshot wounds on his upper body. He was declared deceased by medical personnel on the scene and the motive is currently unknown.

“The detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and no arrest has been made yet,” said Mpendukana.


Suspects demand protection fee from victim

CRIME SCENE: Nyanga, Cape Town: Police in the Western Cape are offering a cash reward of up to R50 000 for information of a murder investigation.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) Nyanga police responded to a shooting incident on 29 June 2026 at about 15:45, during which Bashira Issaka (35), a Ghanaian national, was shot and killed inside his red container business premises by suspects who were allegedly demanding a protection fee.

According to SAPS the investigating officer is pursuing all available leads to bring the perpetrators to justice and is appealing to the community for assistance. The identities of those who provide information will remain anonymous. A cash reward is offered for information leading to the successful arrest and conviction of the suspects.

Thieves cause significant damage power lines

Battle to get the lights on

CRIME SCENE: Somerset West, Helderberg: Power to Somerset Mall and surrounding areas should be restored by early evening on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.

The area has been without electricity for more than three days after thieves caused damage to high voltage electrical infrastructure.

According to Eskom the damage has disrupted power supply to the shopping centre and nearby industrial areas. Its technical teams have been working continuously to repair the damaged infrastructure and restore electricity as quickly and safely as possible.

The estimated time of restoration for is 18:00 on Wednesday.

People with information about infrastructure theft are encouraged to report it anonymously to Eskom’s toll-free crime hotline on 0800 11 27 22 or their nearest South African Police Service (SAPS) station.
