MISDAADTONEEL: Gugulethu, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n 48-jarige man gearresteer nadat verskeie soort dwelms by sy huis gevind is.

Volgens die polisie het lede van Operasie Prosper inligting oor dwelms by ‘n perseel in Khanya Crescent, Station Park, Woensdagoggend 1 Julie 2026 opgevolg.
Die lede het die plek deursoek en 17,25g Tik, 55,23g kokaïen en 3,45 gram rock in die huis gevind.
Heinz Park: In ‘n aparte voorval het lede van Operasie Prosper stop-en-deursoek-operasies in Daffodilstraat, Heinz Park, uitgevoer toe hulle ‘n man met 21 pakkies Tik en ‘n onbekende bedrag kontant in sy besit gevind het. Die 22-jarige verdagte is gearresteer vir die besit van dwelms.

CRIME SCENE: Gugulethu, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a 48-year-old man after various drugs were found at his house.

According to the police members of Operation Prosper followed up on information about drugs at a premises in Khanya Crescent, Station Park, on Wednesday morning, 01 July 2026.
The members conducted a search of the premises and found 17,25 grams of crystal meth, 55,23 grams of cocaine, and 3,45 grams of rock.
Heinz Park: In a separate incident Operation Prosper members were conducting stop-and-search operations in Daffodil Street, Heinz Park, when they searched a man and found 21 packets containing crystal meth (Tik) and an undisclosed amount of cash in his possession. The 22-year-old suspect was arrested for the possession of drugs.

Lede van die Lentegeur polisie was Woensdagoggend, 1 Julie 2026 in Woodlands besig met patrollies om bendegeweld te bestry toe hulle ‘n man sien wat die pad oorsteek. Toe hy die polisie gewaar, het hy skielik begin hardloop.
Die polisie het hom agternagesit en ingehaal. Hy is deursoek en ‘n 9 mm-pistool sonder ‘n reeksnommer en 15 rondtes ammunisie is in sy besit gevind. Hy is op die toneel gearresteer.

CRIME SCENE: Mitchells Plain, Cape Town: Running away from the police when you suddenly spot them is not always the cleverest thing to do, especially if you have something to hide.

This was the case on Wednesday morning, 1 July 2026 when swift action by the Lentegeur police led to the arrest of a suspect with an unlicensed firearm in his possession.
According to the police the members conducted crime prevention duties in Woodlands to combat gang violence when they noticed a man crossing the road. When he saw the police vehicle, he started running.
The police gave chase and caught up with him. He was searched and a 9mm pistol without a serial number and 15 rounds of ammunition, was found in his possession. He was arrested on the scene.

MISDAADTONEEL: Delft, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n gru-ontdekking gemaak toe hulle ‘n man met veelvuldige beserings in Delft-Suid gevind het.

Die polisie is Woensdagoggend, 1 Julie 2026 na Quince-straat ontbied waar hulle op die slagoffer afgekom het.
‘n Skakelbeampte vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, sersant Wesley Twigg, het gesê die Delft-polisie het sedertdien ‘n moordsaak vir ondersoek geregistreer.
“Die slagoffer het veelvuldige beserings aan sy liggaam gehad en is op die toneel deur mediese personeel dood verklaar. Die omstandighede rondom die voorval word ondersoek en geen arrestasies is nog gemaak nie,” het Twigg gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Delft, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have made a gruesome discovery of a man with multiple injuries in Delft South.

The police were called out to Quince Street on Wednesday morning, 1 July 2026 where they found the victim.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, said Delft police have since registered a murder case for investigation.
“The victim had multiple injuries to his body and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and no arrests have been made,” said Twigg.

NASIONAAL: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het meer as 900 mense landwyd gearresteer vir verskeie oortredings, insluitend openbare geweld, plundering en immigrasieverwante misdade tydens betogings op 30 Junie 2026.

Die Adjunk-Nasionale Kommissaris vir Polisiëring vir die SAPD en Voorsitter van NATJOINTS, Luitenant-Generaal Tebello Mosikili, het Woensdagoggend, 1 Julie 2026 ‘n oorsig gegee van die nasionale situasie na die betogings.
Sy het bevestig 120 optogte het landwyd plaasgevind, waarvan 108 vreedsaam was en 12 polisie-ingryping vereis het.
“Die land het relatief stabiel gebly, met die meerderheid Suid-Afrikaners wat hul grondwetlike regte vreedsaam en verantwoordelik uitgeoefen het.
“Diegene wat die betogings vir kriminele gewin wou uitbuit, is geïdentifiseer, agtervolg en voor die wet gebring.”
Sy het ook bevestig een van die mees ernstige voorvalle was ‘n skietery waar twee mense tydens protesverwante geweld beseer is.
“Ons bly waaksaam, ons bly voorbereid, en ons sal voortgaan om beslissend op te tree teen enigiemand wat die veiligheid, sekuriteit en stabiliteit van ons land bedreig. Ons verskerp ook ons bedrywighede om te verseker dat alle persone wat in die land is, in besit is van geldige dokumentasie en voldoen aan die wette van die Republiek.”

Over 900 arrested during protests
NATIONAL: The South African Police Service (SAPS) arrested more than 900 people nationwide for various offences including public violence, looting, and immigration-related crimes during 30 June 2026 demonstrations.

Deputy National Commissioner for Policing for SAPS and NATJOINTS Chairperson, Lieutenant General Tebello Mosikili, on Wednesday morning 1 July 2026 gave an overview of the national situation following the protests.
She confirmed that 120 marches took place nationwide, with 108 being peaceful and 12 requiring police intervention.
“The country remained relatively stable, with the majority of South Africans exercising their constitutional rights peacefully and responsibly.
“Those who sought to exploit yesterday’s demonstrations for criminal gain were identified, pursued and brought before the law.”
She also confirmed that one of the serious incidents during the unrest included a shooting in where two people were injured during protest-related violence.
“We remain vigilant, we remain prepared, and we will continue to act decisively against anyone who threatens the safety, security and stability of our country. We are also intensifying our operations to ensure that all persons who are in the country are in possession of valid documentation and are compliant with the laws of the Republic.”

Die polisie sê die 37-jarige vrou het omstreeks 20:30 in Geelmelkhout-straat gestap toe onbekende verdagtes haar nader en op haar begin skiet voordat hulle van die toneel gevlug het.
‘n Skakelbeampte vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, sersant Wesley Twigg, sê die polisie is na die toneel ontbied en met hul aankoms het hulle die slagoffer met skietwonde aan haar liggaam gevind.
“Die slagoffer is op die toneel deur mediese personeel dood verklaar. Delft-speurders ondersoek ‘n moordsaak,” het Twigg gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Delft, Cape Town: A woman was shot and killed while walking in Delft South on Tuesday night, 30 June 2026.

The police said the 37-year-old woman was walking in Geelmelkhout Street at about 20:30 when she was approached by unknown suspects who opened fire on her before fleeing the scene.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, said the police were called to the crime scene and when they arrived they found the victim with gunshot wounds to her body.
“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. Delft detectives are investigating a murder case,” said Twigg.
