Suspect arrested after argument leads to gunfire
Two shot in Cape Town CBD
CRIME SCENE: Cape Town Central: An apparent argument has allegedly resulted in the shooting of two men at one of the busiest spots in the Central Business District.

The Cape Town Central police opened two attempted murder cases following the shooting incident on Thursday afternoon, 5 November 2026 at about 15:40 opposite the bus terminus at the corner of Strand and Buitekant Street.
The Commander of the Western Cape police media centre, Lieutenant Colonel FC Van Wyk, said according to reports, City law enforcement officers attended to the incident where they found two men aged 33 and 45-years with gunshot wounds.
“One of the men sustained injuries to the abdomen and the other to his leg. They were both transported to a nearby hospital.
“The motive is believed to be an argument between the two injured individuals and another adult male found to be in possession of a 9mm firearm and ammunition.
“The third man was arrested. His firearm and ammunition were confiscated and handed in as exhibits,” said Van Wyk.
