Three arrested as cops find unlicensed guns
Cops see red
CRIME SCENE: Vredenburg, West Coast. – Three suspects were removed from our streets when the Vredenburg police arrested them for the possession of unlicensed guns.
The cops were busy with crime prevention duties on 16 February when they spotted a silver Suzuki without number plates. The driver of the Suzuki skipped a red traffic light and the police immediately pulled the car over.
When the driver got out of the car, the police spotted a 9mm pistol on the driver’s seat. At the same time one of the passengers tried to hide something under the seat. The police ordered them to get out of the car. The vehicle was searched and three firearms with ammunition were found as well as number plates and balaclavas.
While the driver of the vehicle could produce a licence for one of the firearms, two of the guns were unlicensed.
The three suspects aged 25, 45 and 46 were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
