MISDAADTONEEL: Uitsig, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n 34-jarige man gearresteer nadat ‘n haelgeweer, nege sakkies Tik, 31 halwe Mandrax-tablette en kontant by sy perseel in Daisy-straat, Uitsig, Ravensmead ontdek is.

Die polisie was Sondag, 12 Julie 2026 omstreeks 20:05 besig met operasies toe hulle inligting ontvang het oor ‘n vuurwapen en dwelmhandel by die genoemde adres.
‘n Deeglike deursoeking van die perseel is uitgevoer, waartydens die man gearresteer is vir die besit van ‘n onwettige vuurwapen en dwelmhandel.

CRIME SCENE: Uitsig, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a 34-year-old man following the discovery of a shotgun, nine sachets of tik, 31 half Mandrax tablets, and an undisclosed amount of cash at his premises in Daisy Street, Uitsig, Ravensmead.

The police were conducting operations on Sunday, 12 July 2026, at approximately 20:05, when they received intelligence regarding firearm and drug-dealing activities at the mentioned address.
A thorough search of the premises was conducted, during which the man was arrested for possession of a prohibited firearm and dealing in drugs.

Ongeveer 20 gemeentelede het naby die muur gesit toe dit Maandag 13 Julie 2026 ineengestort het.
Nood- en reddingspanne van die eThekwini Munisipaliteit, die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD), die eThekwini Brandweer en ander nooddienste was op die toneel om diegene wat onder die puin vasgekeer was, te red.
Twee mense kritiek beseer en ses het geringe tot matige beserings opgedoen.
Soek- en reddingsoperasies duur voort te midde van kommer dat bykomende gemeentelede steeds onder die puin vasgekeer is.
Reddingspanne het gespesialiseerde toerusting gebruik en gekoördineerde opgrawingstegnieke gebruik om boumateriaal te verwyder terwyl hulle na oorlewendes gesoek het.
Die munisipaliteit het die vinnige optrede en professionaliteit van alle noodpersoneel geprys.

Wall collapses on churchgoers
ACCIDENT SCEN: At least eight people have been injured when an 18-metre retaining wall collapsed onto congregants during a church gathering in eBuhleni Village, Inanda, Durban.

Initial reports indicate that approximately 20 congregants were in close proximity to the wall when it collapsed on Monday 13 July 2026 , trapping multiple people beneath the debris.
eThekwini Municipality’s emergency and rescue teams, working alongside the South African Police Service (SAPS) and Rescue, the eThekwini Fire Department, and other emergency services, were on the scene to rescue those trapped under the rubble and soil.
Two people sustained critical injuries, while six suffered minor to moderate injuries.
Search and rescue operations remain ongoing amid concerns that additional congregants may still be trapped beneath the collapsed structure.
Rescue teams are using specialised equipment and carefully coordinated excavation techniques to remove debris while searching for survivors.
The Municipality commended the swift response and professionalism of all emergency personnel who mobilised immediately after the incident was reported.
