Suspect can’t fool police
CRIME SCENE: Pelican Heights, Cape Town: A man who allegedly tried to fool police with Mandrax tablets in a dog food bag, was arrested on Tuesday night, 5 May 2026.

The 45-year-old suspect from Seagull Road, Pelican Heights was also caught with an illegal firearm.
The suspect was apprehended by members of Operation Lockdown III at approximately 10pm after the police received information about suspected criminal activities at the address.
The police searched the house and found the Mandrax tablets concealed in a dog food bag as well as a .38 special revolver with 34 rounds of ammunition, according to a statement by the Western Cape police media office.
The suspect was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm, illegal possession of ammunition and possession of drugs.
