NATIONAL: A 35-year-old woman has been arrested on a charge of murder after her husband was stabbed to death.

The incident happened in Donkerhoek in the Free State. According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) they responded to a call on Sunday, 28 June 2026, at about 7:45, of someone who was stabbed and lying in the street.

On their arrival, they found a man with a wound on the left side of his chest, already looking weak, and a black knife with a silver handle next to him. An ambulance responded and certified him dead.

Preliminary investigation done on the scene pointed to the wife who admitted to stabbing the 36-year-old deceased after an argument at another woman’s residence.
