ACCIDENT SCENE: Mitchells Plain, Cape Town: A man died on Tuesday afternoon, 7 July 2026 in a collision between a minibus taxi and a motor vehicle at the intersection of Highlands Drive and Weltevreden Parkway in Colorado Park.

When the collision happened, at about 14:00, the car burst into flames, leaving the helpless driver inside. It was reported that bystanders tried to help the driver get out of the car, but the flames were too hot. The driver died at the scene of the accident.

The taxi driver was injured and taken to hospital along with an in injured girl.
