Three suspects arrested in Southern Suburbs
Vehicle jammers taken down
CRIME SCENE: Grassy Park: The City of Cape Town’s traffic officers and the South African Police Service arrested three suspects believed to be involved in remote vehicle jamming in the Southern Suburbs.

JP Smith, the City’s Mayoral Committee member for Safety and Security said information was circulated on Friday afternoon, 10 July 2026, about a suspicious vehicle allegedly linked to remote jamming incidents.
“Officers from our traffic services, supported by SAPS Flying Squad, quickly located the vehicle and conducted a tactical takedown in the parking area of Nando’s at the corner of Prince George Drive and 5th Avenue, Grassy Park.
“A search of of the vehicle uncovered a remote jamming device, laptop, three cell phones and other items believed to have been stolen,” said Smith.
The three suspects, from Pelikan Park, Philippi and Gugulethu, were arrested on the scene and handed over to Grassy Park SAPS for further investigation.
“Well done to everyone involved in another successful operation that helps make our communities safer,” said Smith.
