Polisie sien rooi oor dwelms
MISDAADTONEEL: Lavender Hill, Kaapstad: ‘n Rooi sak vol dwelms het ‘n 42-jarige man in die pekel laat beland.
Steenberg polisie se misdaadvoorkomingseenheid het Donderdag 16 April 2026 roetine patrollies in Lavender Hill gedoen toe hulle ‘n man met die rooisak sien hardloop het.
Die verdagte is aangekeer en die polisie het hom deursoek waartydens hulle twee 20-gram pakkies tik, 160 sakkies tik, 150 mandrax tablette en 300 half-mandrax tablette in sy besit gevind het.
Die man is gearresteer vir die besit van dwelms en sal Maandag 20 April 2026 in die Wynberg-landdroshof verskyn.

Man caught with drugs in toiletry bag
CRIME SCENE: Lavender Hill, Cape Town: A red toiletry bag filled with drugs has cost a 42-year-old man his freedom.
The Crime Prevention Unit of Steenberg were conducting routine patrols in Lavender Hill on Thursday, 16 April 2026 when they saw a man running with the red toiletry bag.
The suspect was apprehended, and during a search, the police found two 20-gram packets of tik, 160 sachets of tik, 150 mandrax tablets and 300 half mandrax tablets in his possession.
The man was arrested for possession of drugs and will appear at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 20 April 2026.
