Mom’s body found in graveyard
UPDATE! The Western Cape police have confirmed a suspect a suspect was arrested in connection with the murder of 37-year-old Janine Hopley.
A media liaison officer, Captain FC van Wyk, said one suspect was arrested and will appear in court on Monday, 11 May 2026 on a charge of murder.
Van Wyk said according to reports the deceased was reported missing by her boyfriend on Friday, 1 May 2026, and an enquiry was registered and investigated.

CRIME SCENE: Caledon, Overberg: The body of a woman was found this afternoon, Thursday 7 May 2026 in the Caledon graveyard.

The body was confirmed to be that of Janine Hopley, a young mother, who went missing last week, according to reports.
Hopley’s family was at the graveyard to identify the body and was consoled by community members on the scene.
CSR has requested police comment and is still waiting on a response.
