Polisie slaan weer toe in Bellvile
JONGSTE! Vandag, Dinsdag, 16 Junie 2026, se operasie in Bellville het gelei tot die beslaglegging van nagemaakte produkte met ‘n geraamde waarde van R10-miljoen.

Meer as 40 winkels is tydens die operasie geteiken, wat gelei het tot die beslaglegging van nagemaakte handelsmerk-klere, skoene, sakke, horlosies, sonbrille, kêppies en verpakking.
Die multi-dissiplinêre span het bestaan uit lede van die SAPD, die Stad Kaapstad se metropolisie, wetstoepassing beamptes en Brand Protectors.
Dit volg op ‘n soortgelyke operasie wat ‘n week gelede by dieselfde winkelsentrum uitgevoer is, waartydens nagemaakte produkte ter waarde van meer as R98-miljoen gekonfiskeer is.
Volgens die polisie is die operasies deel van landwye pogings om die handel in nagemaakte en onwettige goedere, wat openbare veiligheid, wettige besighede en die land se ekonomie bedreig, te beveg.

UPDATE! Today’s, Tuesday,16 June 2026, operation in Bellville led to the confiscation of counterfeit goods with an estimated value of R10 million.

More than 40 shops were targeted during the operation resulting in the seizure of high-end counterfeit branded clothing, shoes, bags, watches, sunglasses, caps and branded packaging.
The multidisciplinary team comprised members from SAPS, the Cape Town Metropolitan Police Department, City of Cape Town Law Enforcement and brand protectors.
This follows a similar takedown operation conducted at the same shopping complex a week ago, during which counterfeit goods valued at more than R98 million were seized.
Combined, the two operations resulted in the seizure of counterfeit goods worth more than R100 million within a week.
These operations form part of nationwide efforts to dismantle the trade in counterfeit and illicit goods, which threaten public safety, legitimate businesses and the country’s economy.
CRIME SCENE: Bellville, Cape Town: The South African Police Service’s (SAPS) National and Western Cape Counterfeit and Illicit Goods Units, supported by various internal and external stakeholders, are currently executing search-and-seizure warrants at a shopping complex in Bellville.

The operation follows a major enforcement action conducted at the same shopping complex a week ago, during which counterfeit goods valued at more than R90 million were seized.

Groot hoeveelheid Tik gevind
MISDAADTONEEL: Durbanville, Kaapstad: Twee mans is gearresteer nadat die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) Tik in twee afsonderlike voorvalle in Fisantekraal gevind het.

Volgens die SAPD het die Durbanville Misdaadvoorkomingseenheid oor die naweek misdaadvoorking-operasies uitgevoer wat gelei het tot die twee arrestasies en konfiskering van dwelms.
Op Vrydag 12 Junie 2026 het die eenheid 55 strooitjies Tik ontdek, wat gelei het tot die arrestasie van ‘n 33-jarige man vir handel en besit van tik.
Op Saterdag 13 Junie 2026 is ‘n 45-jarige man in Birch-straat gearresteer nadat 110 Tik-sakkies in sy besit gevind is.
Albei verdagtes is by die Durbanville SAPD aangehou.

Two arrested after Tik found
CRIME SCENE: Durbanville, Cape Town: Two men have been arrested after the South African Police Service (SAPS) discovered Tik in two separate incidents in Fisantekraal.

According to SAPS, the Durbanville Crime Prevention Unit were conducting crime combatting operations over the weekend that resulted in the two arrests and drug confiscations.
On Friday, 12 June 2026, they discovered 55 straws of Tik which resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man for dealing and possession of tik.
On Saturday, 13 June 2026 a 45-year-old man was arrested in Birch Street, Fisantekraal after 110 Tik sachets were found in his possession.
Both suspects were detained at Durbanville SAPS.
