CRIME SCENE: Woodstock, Cape Town: A young woman was brutally shot and killed in front of public toilets on Saturday morning, 27 June 2026.

According to a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Constable Ndakhe Gwala, the incident occurred in Aberdeen Street at about 07:00.
“The deceased was standing in front of a public toilet when an unknown man walked up to her and spoke to the woman for a few minutes before drawing a firearm and shot her in the face.
“He then ran towards Victoria Road and got into a minibus. The 31-year-old was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is a subject of investigation and no arrest has been effected at this stage,” said Constable Gwala.

CRIME SCENE: Kraaifontein, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have appealed to witnesses to come forward after a woman was shot and killed here on Thursday morning, 25 June 2026.

According to Constable Ndakhe Gwala of the Western Cape police media office police opened a case of murder following the shooting a 35-year-old woman at the corner of Boesak and Botfontein Road, Kraaifontein.
“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and the motive is yet to be determine,” said Gwala.

Policeman killed on Father’s Day
CRIME SCENE: Khayelitsha, Cape Town: The Directorate for Priority Crimes Investigations, known as the Hawks, are investigating the murder of a police officer in Khayelitsha on Father’s Day.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) the 47-year-old sergeant was in the Khayelitsha area visiting a relative when two gunmen entered the relative’s place in Town Two at approximately 14:55 on Sunday, 21 June 2026.
They fired multiple shots at him and fled in a vehicle. SAPS Western Cape management has expressed condolences to the family and colleagues of the deceased police official.
Victim was first a co-accused in drug case
State witness gunned down
CRIME SCENE: Kensington, Cape Town: A man who died in a hail of bullets in Kensington on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, was a state witness in a drug trafficking case.

The 37-year-old victim was a co-accused before turning state witness barely two weeks ago in a case where police seized drugs worth R18 million.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Captain FC Van Wyk, said Kensington South African Police Service (SAPS) attended to a shooting incident on Wednesday, June 17 at 15:50 at a premises in First Street.
A vehicle drove past the address twice before shooting the victim.
“The victim was outside the premises when a gold-coloured vehicle drove past. The same vehicle later returned to the mentioned address, and two unidentified males alighted, armed with firearms,” said Van Wyk.
The victim was shot multiple times, while trying to run away from his attackers.
“He was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel,” said Van Wyk.
Police said the motive for the shooting was part of an ongoing investigation.

Gunmen leave trail of blood in Manenberg
One dead, 6 injured in shooting
CRIME SCENE: Manenberg, Cape Town: Gunmen have left a trail of blood behind when they fired randomly at a group of people in Rio Grande Walk, killing one person and injuring five others.

A police officer, who responded to the shooting, was also injured.
The incident occurred this evening, Wednesday, 17 June 2026 at around 18:30 in Rio Grande Walk, Manenbrg.
According to a media liaison officer for the Western Cape Police, Captain FC van Wyk, a silver-grey car drove down Rio Grande Walk. It stopped, the occupants got out and randomly started shooting at a group of people standing in front of a premises.
“Police officers patrolling the area responded to the sound of the gunshots and upon their arrival the suspects fired several shots at them. A 42-year-old SAPS officer was injured by shrapnel to his head. The suspects fled the scene and are yet to be arrested.
“The deceased person is a 22-year-old man, while four men aged 24, 35, 36 and 48-years, and a 56-year-old woman were injured. They were transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Manenberg police registered a murder case and six counts of attempted murder,” said Van Wyk.
In addition to the investigation, operational forces have been deployed in the area to stabilise the situation and to ensure increased police visibility within the affected community, he said.

Body found in Durbanville
CRIME SCENE: Durbanville, Cape Town : The South African Police Service (SAPS) have appealed to people to come forward with information after a body was found here.

The Durbanville SAPS attended to a complaint of an unidentified body of a male found on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 at 14:20 in Klipheuwel Road.
An inquest was opened for investigation. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Two arrested after Tik found
CRIME SCENE: Durbanville, Cape Town: Two men have been arrested after the South African Police Service (SAPS) discovered Tik in two separate incidents in Fisantekraal.

According to SAPS, the Durbanville Crime Prevention Unit were conducting crime combatting operations over the weekend that resulted in the two arrests and drug confiscations.
On Friday, 12 June 2026, they discovered 55 straws of Tik which resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old man for dealing and possession of tik.
On Saturday, 13 June 2026 a 45-year-old man was arrested in Birch Street, Fisantekraal after 110 Tik sachets were found in his possession.
Both suspects were detained at Durbanville SAPS.
Man and woman arrested in Kuilsriver
Drugs of R3m found at B&B
CRIME SCENE: Kuilsriver, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have seized drugs worth about R3 million and arrested two suspects at a bed and breakfast establishment here.

SAPS received a tip-off about suspected drug activity at the establishment in the Langverwacht area. The Anti-Economic Crimes Task Team arrived at the premises at about 04:30 on Monday, 15 June 2026.
According to the police they found a man matching the description of the suspect as well as a woman at the premises.
“Officers noticed a large black bag on the back seat of a vehicle. Inside, police discovered a substantial quantity of Mandrax tablets. Further inspection revealed additional bags containing more Mandrax and Crystal meth (Tik). In total, 51 bags of Mandrax and five kilograms of Tik were confiscated, as well as R17,000 in cash.”
The 29-year-old woman and 35-year-old man will appear in the Kuilsriver Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 on charges of possession and dealing in drugs.
Two men, woman shot in Khayelitsha
Suspects of triple murder on the run
CRIME SCENE: Khayelitsha, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have yet to make arrests following a triple murder in Khayelitsha on Saturday evening, 13 June 2026.

According to SAPS, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Pama Road, Site B, where they discovered the bodies of two men and a woman. All three victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
A media liaison officer for Western Cape SAPS, Colonel Andrè Traut, said preliminary information suggests the suspects approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the area.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.
