Verdagtes gesoek ná moorde in Macassar, Hanover Park

MISDAADTONEEL: Macassar, Kaapstad: ‘n Man is Donderdagaand, 30 Julie 2026 hier doodgeskiet.
Volgens ‘n woordvoerder vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, sersant Wesley Twigg, het die Macassar-polisie ‘n moordondersoek geopen na die voorval omstreeks 20:05 in Musica-straat.
“Polisielede is na die misdaadtoneel ontbied waar hulle die slagoffer met ‘n skietwond aan sy kop gevind het. Hy is deur mediese personeel op die toneel dood verklaar. Die verdagte(s) het van die toneel gevlug en geen arrestasies is nog gemaak nie,” het Twigg gesê.
Hanover Park: In ‘n ander skietvoorval Vrydagoggend, 31 Julie 2026 is ‘n 39-jarige man omstreeks 04:40 noodlottig gewond in Lugano Court, Hanover Park.
‘n Woordvoerder vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, Thembakazi Mpendukana, het die voorval bevestig en gesê ‘n moordsaak is deur Philippi-polisie geopen.
“Die slagoffer is deur ‘n onbekende manlike verdagte doodgeskiet en geen arrestasie is nog gemaak nie,” het Mpendukana gesê.

Two killed in overnight shootings
CRIME SCENE: Macassar, Cape Town: A man was shot and killed here on Thursday night, 30 July 2026.
According to a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, Macassar police have opened a murder investigation following the shooting incident at about 20:05 in Musica Street.
“Police members were called to the crime scene where they found the victim with a gunshot wound to his head. He was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The suspect/s fled the scene and are yet to be arrested,” said Twigg.
Hanover Park: In another shooting incident on Friday morning, 31 July 2026 a 39-year-old man was fatally wounded in Lugano Court, Hanover Park at about 04:40.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Thembakazi Mpendukana, confirmed the incident and said a murder case had been opened at Philippi police.
“The victim was shot and killed by an unknown male suspect no arrest had been made yet,” Mpendukana.
