Verdagte verskyn in verband met 'n reeks aanklagte
Polisie soek hulp met verkrag-sake
MISDAADTONEEL: Muizenberg, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) soek inligting wat kan help met die ondersoek na ‘n vermeende reeksverkragter en rower in die Muizenberg-gebied.

Volgens die SAPD staan ’n 35-jarige man tans tereg op aanklagte wat verband hou met sewe verkragtings- en roofsake wat tussen 2023 en 2026 by die Muizenberg-polisiestasie aangemeld is. Die beskuldigde is met die sake verbind deur DNS-analise, foto-identifikasie en ooreenkomste in sy modus operandi,
Die SAPD het gesê die beskuldigde het na bewering sosiale media en WhatsApp-groepe gebruik om vroue te lok onder die valse voorwendsel van ‘n werk of verhouding. Die vroue is na bewering aangemoedig om hom in die Capricorn/Muizenberg-gebied te ontmoet, waar hy hulle oor ‘n oop veld sou lei voordat hy hulle na bewering verkrag en beroof het.
Die verdagte is op 15 Februarie 2026 gearresteer en bly in aanhouding nadat borgtog geweier is. Hy moet weer op 20 Augustus 2026 in die hof verskyn.
Die SAPD glo dat daar ander slagoffers mag wees wat nog nie voorvalle aangemeld het nie. Enigiemand wat moontlik deur die beskuldigde geviktimiseer is, of wat inligting het wat die ondersoek kan help, word versoek om na vore te kom.

Alleged serial rapist face seven charges
Police seeking info in rape cases
CRIME SCENE: Muizenberg, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for information that can help in the investigation of an alleged serial rapist and robber in the Muizenberg-area.

According to SAPS a 35-year-old man is currently facing charges relating to seven rape and robbery cases reported at the Muizenberg police station between 2023 and 2026. The accused has been linked to the cases through DNA analysis, photo identification and similarities in his modus operandi.
SAPS said the accused allegedly used social media and WhatsApp groups to lure women under the pretext of meeting for work or a relationship. The women were allegedly encouraged to meet him in the Capricorn/Muizenberg area, where he would lead them across an open field before allegedly using violence against them and committing rape and robbery.
The suspect was arrested on 15 February 2026 and remains in custody after bail was denied. He is due to appear in court again on 20 August 2026.
SAPS believe there may be other victims who have not yet reported incidents. Anyone who may have been victimised by the accused, or who has information that could assist the investigation, is urged to come forward.
