CRIME SCENE: Diep River, Cape Town: Members of Diep River Crime Prevention Unit arrested three suspects for possession of prohibited firearms on Saturday, 6 June 2026.

The team conducted a vehicle check point operation with metro police at the corner of Main Road and Fairdale Road. At around 21:20, they stopped a Toyota Hilux with three occupants.

During the search, the members found two 9mm pistols without serial numbers, an imitation firearm and 22 rounds of ammunition. The three men were arrested.

Bishop Lavis: A 25-year-old woman was arrested at her Bishop Lavis home on Friday, 5 June 2026. Members of Operation Lockdown 3 acted on information about drugs that were kept at a house in End Road, Bishop Lavis. They searched the premises, found 75 Mandrax tablets and arrested the suspect.
