Body found in bush
CRIME SCENE: Mamre: The body of a man with bullet wounds to his head was discovered in bushes here on Monday morning, 6 July 2026.
Residents believe the man, in his 20s, was shot elsewhere and his body dumped on that spot. He was wearing a red pants, a Saxonsea High School track top and black slippers.
According to Thembakazi Mpendukana, a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, the body was discovered at around 08:00 at the corner of the Old Mamre-Darling Road and Dassenberg Road, Mamre.
Mpendukana confirmed the victim had bullet wounds to his head and that Atlantis police opened a murder case for further investigation.
“The motive for this incident is currently unknown and no arrest has been made yet,” said Mpendukana.
