Man sterf na enkele steekwond

MISDAADTONEEL: Lavender Hill, Kaapstad: ‘n 27-jarige man is Vrydagoggend, 22 Mei 2026 in Lavender Hill doodgesteek.

Sersant Wesley Twigg van die Wes-Kaapse polisie se mediakantoor het gesê die Steenberg-polisie het ‘n moordsaak vir geopen na die messtekery wat omstreeks 07:00 op die hoek van Urfield- en Epsten-weg gebeur het.

Twigg sê toe die polisie by die toneel het hulle die man met ‘n steekwond aan sy liggaam gevind.

“Hy is deur mediese personeel op die toneel dood verklaar. Die omstandighede rondom die voorval word ondersoek en nog geen arrestasies is op die stadium gemaak nie.”

Man stabbed to death in Lavender Hill

CRIME SCENE: Lavender Hill, Cape Town: A 27-year-old man was stabbed to death in Lavender Hill on Friday morning, 22 May 2026.

Sergeant Wesley Twigg of the Western Cape police media office said Steenberg police registered a murder case for investigation following the stabbing incident at about 07:00, on the corner of Urfield  and Epsten Roads.

Twigg said police members attended to the crime scene where they found the victim with a stab wound to his body.

“He was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made.”

MISDAADTONEEL: Bellville, Kaapstad: Die Metropolisie se honde-eenheid het weer in Bellville toegeslaan waar hulle Mandrax-tablette met ‘n straatwaarde van meer as R130 000 gekonfiskeer het.

JP Smith, die Stad Kaapstad se Burgemeesterskomiteelid vir Veiligheid en Sekuriteit, het op Facebook gesê beamptes het Donderdagmiddag, 21 Mei 2026 net voor 12:00 inligting ontvang oor dwelms wat na bewering by die Tienie Meyer Bypass informele nedersetting aangehou word.

Toe hulle by die perseel aankom, het die huisbewoner hulle toestemming gegee om die plek te deursoek.

“Beamptes het aanvanklik op vier Mandrax-tablette afgekom, maar het toe besluit om die honde-eenheid in te roep. Dit was nie lank nie voordat K9 ‘Bunny’ sy hanteerder na ‘n swart sak wat agter ‘n kas versteek was, gelei het.

“In die sak was byna 3 000 Mandrax-tablette met ‘n straatwaarde van meer as R130 000, 14 rondtes ammunisie, ‘n gesteelde selfoon en meer as R5 000 kontant,” het Smith gesê.

‘n 34-jarige verdagte is gearresteer en word by die Bellville SAPD aangehou.

Crime Scene Report het ‘n week gelede berig dat K9 ‘Virus’ ‘n dwelms  met ‘n geraamde straatwaarde van meer as R2,7 miljoen in ‘n geparkeerde motor by Parksig Villas in Bellville ontdek het.

CRIME SCENE: Bellville, Cape Town: The Metro Police’s K9 Unit struck again on Thursday, 21 May 2026 in Bellville where they confiscated Mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R130 000.

JP Smith, the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Committee member for Safety and Security, said on Facebook officers received a tip-off just before midday about drugs allegedly being stored at the Tienie Meyer Bypass informal settlement.

They made their way to the premises where the occupant granted permission to conduct a search.

“Officers initially discovered four Mandrax tablets, but decided to call in their K9 colleagues who conducted a sweep. It wasn’t long before K9 ‘Bunny’ led its handler to a black bag hidden behind a cupboard.

“In it was nearly 3 000 Mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R130 000, 14 rounds of ammunition, a stolen cellphone and more than R5 000 in cash,” said Smith.

A 34-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at Bellville SAPS for further investigation.

Crime Scene Report reported a week ago K9 ‘Virus’ uncovered a drug stash in a parked car at Parksig Villas, in Bellville, with an estimated street value of more than R2,7-million.
