Delivery man shot in front of shop

CRIME SCENE: Browns Farm, Cape Town: A 44-year-old delivery man has been shot in front of a shop, allegedly by extortionists

According to the media office of the Western Cape police the Nyanga police responded to reports of a shooting in Nzinziniba Street in Browns Farm on Thursday 4 June 2026 at around 14:55.

When the police arrived at the scene they found the victim lying in front of a shop with a gunshot wound to his head. He was taken to a hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the victim was delivering cold drinks at the shop when two suspects emerged, demanding R2000 cash. The shop owner closed the shop, leaving the victim and his co-workers outside.

They attempted to flee but the suspects opened fire, wounding the 44-year-old.  A case of attempted murder is under investigation, and the suspects are still at large.
