Help find missing woman

UPDATE! A woman who was reported missing in May 2026, died of natural causes on 29 January 2026, SAPS have confirmed.

“The missing person investigation relating to Naomi Gaynor Bernes has been concluded. Following enquiries conducted by the Bureau for Missing Persons, information was received and verified through the attorney responsible for the administration of her estate.

“It was confirmed that Ms Bernes passed away on 29 January 2026 due to natural causes. The South African Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms Bernes during this difficult time,” the police said.

THE South African Police Service (SAPS) Western Cape Missing Persons Bureau has released this picture of a woman who went missing.

According to SAPS the 62-year-old Naomi Gaynor Bernes was reported missing on 12 May 2026 in the United Kingdom. Gernes checked in at the Cape Town International Airport on 20 April 2026 to fly back to the United Kingdom but never boarded the aircraft and have not been seen since. UK authorities tried to contact her without success.
