Police find more than 27 000 Mandrax tablets

CRIME SCENE: Parow, Cape Town: Police have made a double swoop against suspected drug dealers in Cape Town’s northern suburbs.

Early on Wednesday morning, 9 September 2026, the police in the Western Cape acted on intelligence and went to a residence in Da Gama Street, Parow.

According to the police the members conducted a search at around 01:30 which led to 27 270 Mandrax tablets being discovered. 

“After this lengthy pursuit, a 39-year-old Zimbabwean male suspect was apprehended for possession of drugs and detained at Parow SAPS,” said the police.

Goodwood: A day earlier, at about 23:30 on Tuesday, 8 September 2026 a 28-year-old male suspect was arrested for possession of drugs during a stop-and-search operation at Cook Street in Goodwood. 

According to the police they found 18 and a half Mandrax tablets in the suspect’s pockets. He was detained at Goodwood SAPS.
