Eight body found, R400 000 reward offered
Police arrest suspect in Ekurhuleni killing
CRIME SCENE: Ekurhuleni, Gauteng: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a suspect in connection with one of the Kempton Park killings.
The Acting National Police Commissioner of the South African Police Service, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, confirmed on Tuesday night, 15 September 2026 the suspect has been arrested in connection with a murder of one of the women which was committed in July.
SAPS are also pursuing another person of interest and a R400,000 reward has been offered for information that could lead to a breakthrough in the investigation into the deaths of eight women in Ekurhuleni.
SAPS have confirmed the body of an eight woman was found in Ekurhuleni on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
The Acting Minister of Police, Mr Firoz Cachalia, the Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Ms Sindisiwe Chikunga, the Deputy Minister of Police, Dr Polly Boshielo, the Premier of Gauteng, Mr Panyaza Lesufi, and the Acting National Commissioner of the South African Police Service, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, led a high-level delegation in a meeting on Tuesday evening, 15 September 2026 to receive a comprehensive briefing on the latest developments surrounding the discovery of the eight women’s bodies.
According to SAPS the meeting focused on the progress of the investigations, the deployment of multidisciplinary expertise, and measures being implemented to ensure that those responsible are identified and brought to justice.
The delegation met with senior SAPS management and investigators at the SAPS Gauteng Provincial Head Office in Parktown.

Woman brutally killed in flat
CRIME SCENE: Pretoria: A 25-year-old woman has been brutally murdered and possibly raped inside a flat in Pretoria West.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Pretoria West are investigating the incident which happened on Monday, 14 September 2026 at about 06:45.
“Police responded to a complaint in Christoffel Street and upon arrival found the body of the woman, lying naked on the floor inside a flat. She had visible bruises and it is suspected that she was strangled and raped.
“The provincial Crime Scene Management and all the necessary role players attended the scene,” said SAPS.
In a second incident also in Pretoria West, police received a complaint of a murder at WF Nkomo Street on 15 September 2026. Upon arrival at 06:15, members found the body of a 40-year-old man, with stab wounds. Paramedics certified him deceased.
No arrests have been made yet.
