CRIME SCENE: Hanover Park, Cape Town: A young man was shot and killed early on Monday morning, 8 June 2026.

Captain FC van Wyk, a Western Cape police media liaison officer, said the Philippi police attended to the shooting incident at about 05:00 in Primrose Street, Hanover Park.

The victim, a 20-year-old man was found laying in the street when they arrived. He had multiple gunshot wounds to the head. A murder case was opened and the circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.
