Police register inquest case
Body found on Strand Beach
THE South African Police Service (SAPS) have opened an inquest docket following the discovery of a man’s body on Strand Beach.

The gruesome discovery was made at about 10:00 on Thursday, 23 July 2026 near the Seawall upgrading site in Beach Road.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Captain FC van Wyk, said Strand police registered an inquest following the discovery of a body of an unidentified male on the beach. A postmortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
