Man, vrou vas oor R3m se dwelms
MISDAADTONEEL: Kuilsrivier, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het dwelms ter waarde van ongeveer R3-miljoen gekonfiskeer en twee verdagtes by ‘n bed-en-ontbyt besigheid hier gearresteer.
Die SAPD het inligting ontvang oor dwelms by die besigheid in die Langverwacht-gebied. Die Anti-Ekonomiese Misdaad-taakspan het Maandag 15 Junie 2026 omstreeks 04:30 by die perseel opgedaag.
Volgens die polisie het hulle ‘n man wat by die beskrywing van die verdagte pas en ‘n vrou by die perseel gevind.
“Die polisie lede het ‘n groot swart sak op die agtersitplek van ‘n voertuig opgemerk. Binne het die hulle ‘n groot hoeveelheid Mandrax-tablette ontdek. Verdere inspeksie het bykomende sakke met nog Mandrax en Crystal Meth (Tik) opgelewer. In totaal is 51 sakke Mandrax en vyf kilogram Tik gekonfiskeer, sowel as R17 000 kontant.”
Die 29-jarige vrou en 35-jarige man sal Woensdag 17 Junie 2026 in die Kuilsrivier-landdroshof op aanklagte van besit en handel in dwelms verskyn.

Drugs of R3m found at B&B
CRIME SCENE: Kuilsriver, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have seized drugs worth about R3 million and arrested two suspects at a bed and breakfast establishment here.
SAPS received a tip-off about suspected drug activity at the establishment in the Langverwacht area. The Anti-Economic Crimes Task Team arrived at the premises at about 04:30 on Monday, 15 June 2026.
According to the police they found a man matching the description of the suspect as well as a woman at the premises.
“Officers noticed a large black bag on the back seat of a vehicle. Inside, police discovered a substantial quantity of Mandrax tablets. Further inspection revealed additional bags containing more Mandrax and Crystal meth (Tik). In total, 51 bags of Mandrax and five kilograms of Tik were confiscated, as well as R17,000 in cash.”
The 29-year-old woman and 35-year-old man will appear in the Kuilsriver Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 17 June 2026 on charges of possession and dealing in drugs.

KAAPSTAD: Die Stad Kaapstad se Mariene Wetstoepassing-eenheid was weer die naweek op hulle stukke toe hulle ‘n man gevang het wat na bewering kreefsterte onwettiglik in sy besit gehad het.
Beamptes was Sondag, 14 Junie 2026 op patrollie in Woodstock toe hulle inligting van die publiek ontvang het van beweerde onwettige handel in kreefsterte by die ou Woodstock-hospitaal. Beamptes het gereageer en die verdagte gevind wat na bewering 973 sterte in sy besit gehad het. Die 33-jarige man is gearresteer en by die Woodstock-polisiestasie ingeboek.
“Die plundering van mariene hulpbronne bly ‘n uitdaging, soos ons net ‘n week gelede gesien het toe beamptes ook ‘n groot aantal kreefsterte gekonfiskeer het.
“Aan die lid van die publiek wat besluit het om die fluitjie in hierdie jongste voorval te blaas – dankie.
“Dis van kritieke belang dat individue en gemeenskappe vorentoe kom en hul stem laat hoor; dit help ons om misdaad effektief te bekamp,” het die Stad se Burgemeesterskomiteelid vir Veiligheid en Sekuriteit, raadslid JP Smith, gesê.
In die vorige voorval, op Sondag, 7 Junie 2026 het wetstoepassingsbeamptes byna 2 000 sterte in Wynberg gekonfiskeer en ‘n 59-jarige man gearresteer.
Lede van die Law Enforcement Adavancement Plan (LEAP) op patrollie in Nyanga-Oos het Saterdagoggend, 13 Junie 2026 ‘n 35-jarige verdagte in hegtenis geneem vir die besit van ‘n Uzi-masjiengeweer en ‘n 9mm-pistool.
In ander voorvalle verlede week het die Stad se wetstoepassers 386 arrestasies gemaak. Hulle het ook 64 664 boetes uitgereik vir verskeie verkeers- en ander oortredings.
Wetstoepassingsbeamptes het 236 arrestasies gemaak en die Metro-polisie 109, insluitend 31 vir dronkbestuur.
Beamptes het ook drie vuurwapens, ‘n nagemaakte vuurwapen, dwelms en nege gekaapte en/of gesteelde voertuie teruggevind.
Op die paaie het die Stad se verkeersbeamptes 41 verdagtes in hegtenis geneem – 31 vir bestuur onder die invloed van alkohol, sewe vir roekelose en nalatige bestuur en nog drie op verskeie ander aanklagte.
Die openbare nood-kommunikasiesentrum het 1 207 voorvalle oor die naweek aangeteken.

CAPE TOWN: The City of Cape Town’s Law Enforcement Marine Unit has made another bust involving possession of illegal West Coast Rock Lobster tails.
On Sunday, 14 June 2026 officers on patrol in Woodstock were tipped off about alleged illegal sale of lobster tails at the Old Woodstock Hospital site. Officers responded and found the suspect who allegedly had 973 tails in his possession. The 33-year-old man was arrested and detained at Woodstock SAPS police station.
“The plundering of marine resources is an ongoing challenge, as we witnessed just a week ago when a by-law transgression led officers to another massive haul of lobster tails.
“To the member of the public who made the decision to blow the whistle in this latest incident – thank you. Individuals and communities who are willing to step forward and speak out are critical to our crime-fighting efforts,” said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, Alderman JP Smith.
In the first incident, on Sunday, 7 June 2026, Law Enforcement officers recovered nearly 2 000 tails during a bust in Wynberg.
Members of Law Enforcement Advancement Plan (LEAP) on patrol in Nyanga East arrested a 35-year-old suspect on Saturday morning, 13 June 2026 for the possession of an Uzi sub-machine gun and a 9mm pistol.
In other incidents during past week week, the City’s enforcement agencies made 386 arrests. They also issued 64 664 notices for various traffic and by-law transgressions.
Law Enforcement officers made 236 arrests and Metro police 109, including 31 for drunk driving.
Officers also recovered three firearms, an imitation firearm, various quantities of drugs and nine hijacked and/or stolen vehicles.
On the roads, the City’s Traffic Officers arrested 41 suspects – 31 for driving under the influence of alcohol, seven for reckless and negligent driving and three more on various other charges.
The Public Emergency Communication Centre recorded 1 207 incidents over the weekend – 481 were medical related, 279 were by-law offences and 123 were traffic-related complaints.

Suspects of triple murder on the run
CRIME SCENE: Khayelitsha, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have yet to make arrests following a triple murder in Khayelitsha on Saturday evening, 13 June 2026.
According to SAPS, officers responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in Pama Road, Site B, where they discovered the bodies of two men and a woman. All three victims sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.
A media liaison officer for Western Cape SAPS, Colonel Andrè Traut, said preliminary information suggests the suspects approached the victims and opened fire before fleeing the area.
The motive for the attack remains unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

MISDAADTONEEL: Wesbank, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n man in hegtenis geneem in verband met die onwettige besit van ‘n vuurwapen.
Volgens die polisie was lede van die openbare orde-eenheid in die vroeë oggendure van Sondagoggend, 14 Junie 2026 besig met stop-en-deursoek-operasies in Swartkop-weg, toe hulle ‘n verdagte wat in die strate rondgedwaal het, deursoek.
“Die lede ‘n 9 mm-pistool met ses rondtes ammunisie in sy besit gevind. Die verdagte het geen vuurwapenlisensie vir die pistool gehad nie. Hy sal in die Blue Downs-landdroshof verskyn sodra hy aangekla is,” het die polisie gesê.

CRIME SCENE: Wesbank, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a man in connection with illegal possession of a firearm.
According to the police members of Public Order Unit were busy with stop and search operations in Swartkop Road in the early hours of Sunday morning, 14 June 2026, when they searched a suspect who was roaming the streets.
“While searching him, the members found a 9mm pistol with six rounds of ammunition in his possession. The suspect had no firearm license for the pistol. He will appear in the Blue Downs Magistrates’ court once charged,” said the police
