Woman found brutally murdered

CRIME SCENE: Theunissen, Free State: A young woman has been found brutally murdered in an abandoned building.

According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) preliminary investigations revealed that the 32-year-old woman was stabbed 14 times. She has been identified by her next-of-kin as Nthabiseng Moiloa.

SAPS said Moiloa was found half-naked, with multiple stab wounds at an abandoned building in Theunissen on Saturday, 7 November 2026 at approximately 03:40.

“Police were summoned to a possible murder scene in Le Roux street and when they arrived, they met with a member of the Neighbourhood watch who directed them to the abandoned premises.

“Inside the premises, police discovered the half-naked woman with multiple injuries to the head and stomach. Moiloa was declared deceased on the scene by emergency medical services personnel.

“According to information, the member of the Neighbourhood watch was informed about a possible theft of copper cable in progress. While searching the area he found the victim lying inside the abandoned house and immediately alerted the police.

“Police are not ruling out the possibility that the victim may have been sexually violated,” said SAPS.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect to come forward. Detective Sergeant Nnana Thekiso of the Theunissen Detectives can be contacted on 071 442 9742 or 082 301 3028.
