Dad stabbed to death
CRIME SCENE: Mitchells Plain, Cape Town: Tragedy struck a Tafelsig family just after midnight on Tuesday, 30 June 2026 when a father was stabbed to death inside their home.

There was speculation on social media that the 45-year-old father’s throat was slit by his own son, but police could not confirm this.
A media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, Constable Ndakhe Gwala, said police members responded to reports of a stabbing incident in Lebombo Street at about 00:10.
“When they arrived they found the body of a 45-year-old male lying at the back of the main house with a stab wound to the neck. He was declared deceased by medical personnel on the scene.
“Witnesses pointed out a 22-year-old male suspect who is a relative of the deceased. He had visible injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation,” said Gwala.
