Scholar driver shot dead
CRIME SCENE: Westbury, Gauteng: A scholar transport driver has been shot and killed soon after dropping off learners at a school.

The Gauteng police have now launched a manhunt for two suspects following the fatal shooting in Westbury, Johannesburg, on Monday, 07 September 2026 at approximately 08:10.
“When the police arrived at the crime scene, they found a 53-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds. It is alleged that the victim had just dropped off school children and was about to park his vehicle at a flat in Westbury when two unknown men approached him and opened fire. The victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics.
“The suspects fled the scene in a blue Volkswagen Polo. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage,” said the South African Police Service (SAPS)
