MISDAADTONEEL: Cafda, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) het ‘n 19-jarige verdagte gearresteer in verband met die mesdood van ‘n tienerseun naby ‘n ouetehuis.

Volgens sersant Wesley Twigg, ‘n media skakelbeampte vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie, het die voorval omstreeks 12:40 op Woensdag, 10 Junie 2026 in Gordon Searle-straat, Cafda, plaasgevind.
Twigg sê toe die Steenberg-polisie by die toneel aankom het hulle die 15-jarige slagoffer met ‘n steekwond aan sy bors aangetref.
“Die slagoffer is op die toneel deur mediese personeel dood verklaar. Volgens berigte het die slagoffer met sy fiets teen die verdagte vasgery en ‘n argument het uitgebreek. Die verdagte het na bewering ‘n mes uitgehaal en die slagoffer gesteek.
“Die verdagte sal in die Wynberg-landdroshof verskyn sodra hy aangekla is,” het Twigg gesê.

Suspect (19) nabbed for boy’s murder
CRIME SCENE: Cafda, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have arrested a 19-year-old suspect in connection with the fatal stabbing of a teenager near an old age home.

According to Sergeant Wesley Twigg, a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, the incident occurred at about 12:40 on Wednesday, 10 June 2026 in Gordon Searle Street, Cafda.
Twigg said the Steenberg police attended to the crime scene and found the 15-year-old victim with a stab wound to his chest.
“The victim was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. According to reports the victim knocked into the suspect with his bicycle and an argument ensued. The suspect allegedly took out a knife and stabbed the victim.
“The suspect will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court once he has been charged,” said Twigg.

MISDAADTONEEL: Bellville, Kaapstad: Die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) en Brand Protectors het nagemaakte goedere ter waarde van R98-miljoen gekonfiskeer.
Die SAPD en Brand Protectors het Dinsdag 9 Junie 2026 inspeksies uitgevoer by winkels wat vermoedelik nagemaakte goedere in die Bellville sentrale sakekern verkoop.
Tydens die operasie het hulle ‘n verskeie vervalste klere en onwettige goedere gekonfiskeer, insluitend bekende handelsmerk-klere en tekkies, met ‘n geraamde straatwaarde van R98 miljoen.
Volgens die polisie is die operasies daarop gemik om die handel in nagemaakte en onwettige goedere in die Wes-Kaap te bestry en verbruikers en wettige besighede wat deur daardeur geraak word, te beskerm.
Die omstandighede word nog ondersoek en diegene wat verantwoordelik is vir die onwettige handel sal vervolg en ander ondervra word.
Die beslaglegging word beskou as ‘n harde slag vir die onwettige handel in nagemaakte goedere, het die polisie gesê.

Fake goods of R98-m confiscated
CRIME SCENE: Bellville, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) and Brand Protectors have confiscated counterfeit goods to the value of R98 million.

SAPS and Brand Protectors conducted inspections at shops believed to be selling counterfeit goods in the Bellville Central Business District on Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
During this operation, they confiscated a wide range of counterfeit clothing and illicit goods, which included branded clothing, running shoes and sneakers, with an estimated value of R98 million
According to the police these operations are aimed at combating the counterfeit and illicit goods trade in the Western Cape and protecting consumers and legitimate businesses affected by the trade.
The circumstances surrounding this case are under investigation, and those responsible for the illicit trade are being pursued, while some are being questioned.
The seizure is regarded as a significant blow to the illegal trade in counterfeit goods, said the police.

Volgens ‘n media skakelbeampte vir die Wes-Kaapse polisie het die Philippi-polisie ‘n moordsaak geregistreer na die skietvoorval in Ryburgweg, Hanover Park, waar die liggaam van ‘n onbekende man gevind is.
“Die slagoffer is op die toneel deur mediese personeel dood verklaar nadat hy ‘n skietwond aan sy kop opgedoen het. Omstandighede rondom hierdie voorval word ondersoek. Die motief is vermoedelik bendeverwant,” het Van Wyk gesê.

According to a police media liaison officer for the Western Cape, Philippi police registered a murder case following the shooting incident in Ryburg Road, Hanover Park, where the body of an unidentified male was found.
“The victim was declared dead on the scene by medical personnel after sustaining a gunshot wound to his head. Circumstances surrounding this incident are under investigation. The motive is believed to be gang related,” said Van Wyk.

MISDAADTONEEL: Delft, Kaapstad: ‘n 43-jarige man van Delft is gearresteer nadat die Suid-Afrikaanse Polisiediens (SAPD) na bewering dwelms ter waarde van R1,5 miljoen in sy besit gekry het.

‘n Span bestaande uit die Valke se Misdaad teen die Staat (CATS)-eenheid, die Suid-Afrikaanse Narkotika-Handhawingsburo (SANEB), die Wes-Kaapse anti-bende-eenheid (AGU), die K9-eenheid en die Plaaslike Kriminele Rekordsentrum (LCRC) het Dinsdag 9 Junie 2026 op die perseel toegeslaan nadat hulle inligting ontvang het oor onwettige aktiwiteite by ‘n sekere adres in Delft.
Die perseel is in die teenwoordigheid van die verdagte deursoek.
In een van die kamers is ‘n bruin sak met 7000 heel Mandrax-tablette gevind. Met verdere deursoeking is ook kokaïen en Tik ontdek. Die geraamde waarde van die dwelms is R1,5 miljoen.
Die verdagte sal Donderdag 11 Junie 2026 sy eerste verskyning in die Bellville-landdroshof maak.

Cops make R1,5 million drug bust
CRIME SCENE: Delft, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) have seized R1,5 million worth of drugs in Delft.

A team comprising of the Hawks’ Crimes Against the State (CATS) unit, the South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau (SANEB), the Western Cape Anti-Gang Unit (AGU), the K9 Unit and Local Criminal Record Centre (LCRC) pounced on the premises and arrested a 45-year-old suspect Tuesday, 9 June 2026.
CATS members had received information about illegal activities at a certain address in Delft, reacted on it and searched the premises in the presence of the suspect.
In one of the rooms, a brown crossbody bag was found containing 7000 full Mandrax tablets. Upon further search, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine (Tik) were also discovered. The estimated value of the drugs is R1,5 million.
The suspect will make his first appearance at the Bellville Magistrates Court Thursday on 11 June 2026.
At least 9 others treated for gunshot wounds
12 killed in Gauteng shooting spree
NATIONAL: The South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng have launched a manhunt for suspects following a mass shooting that claimed the lives of 12 people and left several others injured at Jumpers Informal Settlement in Cleveland on Tuesday evening, 9 June 2026.

At about 23:10, members of the SAPS responded to a complaint of a shooting in progress at the informal settlement. Upon arrival, police found numerous victims who had sustained gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services were immediately summoned to the scene to assist the injured.
According to the police preliminary investigations reveal that 12 people died as a result of the attack. Eight men and three women were declared dead at the scene, while another man later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. At least nine other victims were transported to various medical facilities for treatment of gunshot wounds.
It is alleged that more than 10 suspects were dropped off by a white Toyota Quantum near a petrol station in Cleveland. The suspects allegedly entered the informal settlement through both entrances and moved through the area, opening fire on community members at multiple locations before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle.
Provincial and district detectives, supported by crime intelligence and forensic experts, have been mobilised to investigate the incident and track down the suspects.
The motive for the attack is currently unknown and forms part of the ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this stage.
