Man wounded as shooter strikes early

CRIME SCENE: Parkwood, Cape Town: The South African Police Service in Grassy Park has opened a case of attempted murder following an early morning shooting in Parkwood.

Unconfirmed reports suggest someone shot a Somalian national inside his shop.

According to Western Cape police liaison officer, Sergeant Wesley Twigg, the shooting occurred at 06:50 on Tuesday morning, 02 June 2026 in Heath Road.

“When police members arrived at the scene they found the male victim who sustained a gunshot wound to his chest. He was transported to a medical facility in a private vehicle. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and arrests are yet to be made,” said Twigg.
