Brutal attack on farming couple
CRIME SCENE: Stellenbosch: A farm manager and his wife are recovering from serious injuries sustained during an attack at their home on Neethlingshof Estate.

The Vlottenburg Community Online group announced the attack on their Facebook page, stating: “Another Farm attack happened in our valley. The Neethlingshof Estate farm manager and family was attacked and assaulted by the balaclava mask gang around 7:00pm tonight (24 July 2026). Luckily no one died in the attack but the family members were badly injured. Anyone with information can contact the Stellenbosch police station. Let’s keep our community safe and secure by reporting any suspicious activity and behaviour in our valley.”
After the attack the suspects stole things from the farm and fled.
Western Cape Minister of Police Oversight and Community Safety, Anroux Marais, called on the South African Police Service (SAPS to use every available investigative and intelligence resource to identify those responsible, arrest them and ensure they are brought before the courts as quickly as possible.
“This a a brutal act of violence. My thoughts and prayers are with the injured couple and their loved ones. I wished them a full and speedy recovery.
“Residents must remain vigilant and report suspicious people, vehicles or unusual activity. Strong partnerships between communities and law enforcement remain one of the most effective ways to combat crime,” said Marais
No arrests have yet been made.
