Woman (59) killed ‘after argument’
CRIME SCENE: St Montague Village, Cape Town: Two teenage girls have been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of an elderly woman in St Montague Village near Lavender Hill.

The woman has been identified as Joyce Waterloo and the motive for the attack is believed to be domestic related.
Sergeant Wesley Twigg, a media liaison officer for the Western Cape police, said according to reports the 59-year-old victim had an argument with a relative before she was stabbed.
“Steenberg police registered a murder case for investigation after the body of a 59-year-old female was discovered in St Christopher Avenue, St Montague Village, in the early hours of Friday morning, 5 June 2026.06.05.
“The victim sustained stab wounds to her body and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The motive for the attack is believed to be domestic related.
“We can confirm that two female suspects aged 18 and 19 were arrested in connection with the murder and will appear in the Wynberg Magistrates’ court on Monday, 08 June 2026,” said Twigg.
