Four killed in Nyanga mass shooting
CRIME SCENE: Nyanga, Cape Town: The South African Police Service (SAPS) is investigating a fatal shooting incident believed to be taxi-related after four men were killed in Nyanga on Tuesday morning, 2 June 2026.

According to a media liaison officer for the Western Cape SAPS, Colonel Andrè Traut, preliminary reports indicate that at approximately 08:30, unknown suspects opened fire on a group of individuals at the corner of Moonwood Drive and Sheffield Road.
“Four men, whose ages are yet to be determined, sustained gunshot wounds and were declared dead on the scene.
“Two other men were admitted to hospital in a critical condition. The suspects fled the scene and have not yet been identified,” said Traut
Detectives attached to the Provincial Serious Violent Crimes (SVC) Taxi Unit are pursuing all available leads to identify and apprehend those responsible, while forensic experts are processing the crime scene and gathering evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
